Food safety modernization act
AMERICAN FOOD SAFETY SERVICES, in North Branch, NJ, was the 1st Training Center in the NY, NJ, CT, & PA area accredited by FDA to offer their Food Safety PREVENTIVE CONTROLS for Human Food QUALIFIED INDIVIDUAL (PCQI) workshop. This training is needed to prepare the Preventive Controls Qualified Individual(s) to comply with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). We help food, beverage, packaging, distribution companies & food service providers meet complex regulatory & best practice standards needed to grow business.

Dr. Larry Hood is: licensed by Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI) as an SQF Trainer and SQF Consultant in 20 food categories, including high risk- trains SQF & Advanced SQF classes; is Lead Instructor for Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) to teach PCQI classes, & is Lead Instructor for International HACCP Alliance (IHA) to teach HACCP, Advanced HACCP & Juice HACCP, and we are the original recognized SQF Institute Training & Consulting Center in NJ.
American Food Safety Services was founded by and is under the leadership of Dr. Larry Hood. We assist companies comply with regulatory & 3rd party reguirements such as:
• Review your quality and food safety system documentation & provide corrective actions required to implement preventive controls as outlined in federal regulations in 21 CFR 117 Subpart C - Hazard Analysis and Risk-based Preventive Controls.
• Preparation for compliance audit site inspection interviews through training and mentoring.
• Benchmarks for compliance with regulatory and GFSI standards for food safety and quality requirements.
Official FDA / FSPCA PREVENTIVE CONTROLS FOR HUMAN FOOD QUALIFIED INDIVIDUAL (PCQI) WORKSHOP meets FDA FSMA requirements for PCQI training
If your facility is required to register with FDA under section 415 of Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act, or import , manufacture, process or hold human food, you must comply with the Food Safety Modernization Act Rules (FSMA). The FDA requirements for Preventive Controls and Food Safety Plan are different from HACCP. HACCP accredited individuals aren't the same as PCQI individuals. It requires more to be in compliance with FSMA rules.
